Their wedding images are almost ready so I thought it was a good time to share the lovely Corey Sweeney nee Erickson (congrats again, you two) and her bridal session.  She chose her reception venue, the always elegant Jefferson Hotel, for half of the day and the lovely English gardens of the Virginia House as the other.  We love the way her gorgeous Eve of Milady dress fits each backdrop so gracefully.  Enjoy and we’ll have the wedding day on display very soon.  Until then, get ready for exciting news about Don Mears Photography in the next blog post!

Now, Laura has long been an Owen now and it’s been almost a year since their wedding.  The story of the bridal portrait goes back even further, however, and I’m so glad that we remembered to bring this one up to see the light of day.  We first spoke with Laura over two years ago as she was planning a fast-track wedding before Keegan was resettled in the West for his Air Force training.  Well, things happened here and there, wedding dates changed back and forth, and we simply never got around to sharing this lovely fall bridal portrait at a family farm in Midlothian.  An early happy anniversary is in order for these two and here’s a beautiful bride and her first of two wedding dresses (a different story entirely!).

Enjoy.

So, time to hit the blog again after another crazy August complete with travels, earthquakes, and hurricanes.  We started off September with Amanda’s and Colin’s beautiful wedding here in good ol’ Richmond, VA.  But, since we’re still putting the glitz on the wedding images, I thought we’d give you a little glimpse of Amanda, her gorgeous dress (bride designed, no less) and perhaps the coolest day in all of a very hot July.  Enjoy!

We’ve just said goodbye to Emily and Jim as they head off to their honeymoon, so…it’s time to post her fabulous bridal session.  We started the session at the always beautiful Jefferson Hotel, wandering the halls, stairwells, and lobbies.  As the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts had just opened it’s amazing new wing, I thought I might ask Emily if she’d mind a trip over to take advantage of the pristine new grounds.  It was an easy sell.  Hopefully, you can see why.  Enjoy!

Now that Erica and Patrick have officially walked down the aisle, it’s save (I assume?) to show off her beautiful bridal session.  Erica chose the always lovely, always blooming, grounds of Agecroft Hall.  I think we can agree that her stunning dress was a perfect match for the Elizabethan flavor (it is, after all, the home for Shakespeare’s festival in Richmond) of Agecroft.  Enjoy!

Ahh…back in to the swing of thing after a HUGE hiatus from blog posts.  Something about the birth of a new child will do that to you 🙂  The images galleries for Vivian will be coming soon enough, but for now I wanted to share the lovely Kelly McNeil with you.  She was married here in Richmond on July 24th and we were fortunate enough to be asked to photograph her bridal portraits.  The lovely Jefferson Hotel was the backdrop, always a great idea, and I think you can agree the dress was gorgeous.  Enjoy!

We have just finished downloading the White-Bourne wedding and have to say it was a great party.  Thank you to Kristie, Joe, their family and friends for making my first wedding, post-baby Vivian’s birth, a smashing success.  While we gear back up to tackle our mid-season workload, I thought I’d share Kristie’s bridal portrait session with you.  This was shot at the beautiful Maury Place Bed and Breakfast here in the Museum District.  Mack and Jeff have done such an amazing job with the restoration of this turn-of-the century home just off Monument Avenue.  Lindsay and I have stayed there on several occasions as an in-town getaway.  We definitely recommend it.

Until we post the wedding, here is the beautiful former Ms. White .  Enjoy!

While we work diligently on Allison’s wedding images from last weekend, I thought I’d share the beautiful bride with the world.  We photographed this session at Historic Mankin Mansion earlier this spring.  If you can’t see the personality on this girl, you aren’t even looking.  Enjoy and we’ll be back soon with the wedding day!

I thought I’d throw a few images from Sarah’s bridal portrait session just before I posted their wedding.  These were shot at the beautiful Bolling-Haxall house in downtown Richmond.  Thanks to Natalie Gordon of Avenue 42 Designs for makeup and photo assistance 🙂

Sarah and Casey were married with this weekend here in Richmond so I *think* it’s safe to post these now. Sarah, along with her mother and all three sisters were on hand to assist (very ably I might add) along with the fearless Lloyd as we ran, climbed, and crawled through a variety of poses at the Bolling-Haxall House and Libby Hill Park.  Hope you enjoy them and we can’t wait to post the wedding images!
